Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving. Bill got back from China on Wednesday night, so we were all glad he made it back safely. He got sick over there, though, so he spent much of the weekend in bed. He was convinced he had Bird Flu or SARS.

Our Thanksgiving day started out with the kids catching a little mouse in the yard. Of course they brought it inside and made it a little home in a tuperware container, and of course it escaped.
We had a delicious and relaxing dinner. Everyone ate till they could eat no more.

Then we decorated the tree. We couldn't remember who got to put the star on last year, so Bill got the honors this year. We, dare I say it, have an artificial tree. And for all of you who recoil at the thought, let me just say how GREAT it is! It takes about 5 minutes to set up, lights and all, and it looks great! If I, a girl from Oregon, can live with a fake tree, there must be something to them. The only thing I miss is the smell, so we will put up greenery around the house.
The kids love going through the ornaments and talking about each one and where it came from.
In the afternoon we went over to the Pratts for dessert. Happy Thanksgiving to all!

I just love your family. I told everyone during Thanksgiving dinner how Max & Hannah were so fun watch at the turkey bowl. Hannah not wanting Max to throw her the ball...then Max throwing it as hard as he could. Pre-teens and teens are so funny.

Ok, is Hannah eating three dinner rolls and mash poatoes? Is this her idea of not eating meat? Tell her turkey isn't meat. :)

The mouse! Your patience is unbelievable. Prepare to be translated tomorrow.

Your tree looks great. Bill was in China again? That man is busy.

Thanks for letting our kids come tonight. Hannah Montana is Eden's favorite.

happy thanksgiving. I love the little mouse.
I went to Dave's and made nine pies. Ines and my dad and I ran the 5K Turkey Trot. I tried to trot like a turkey. My dad got a blue ribbon for being the oldest participant. The boys did a lot of impromptu wrestling as usual.
Your fake tree looks very christmasy. So does Bill. Good job, Bill.

Aimee,

Was that a comment on my Santa-like physique? Or my hair that gets whiter by the day?

I was very sick on Thanksgiving. I came back from China the day before Thanksgiving with a really bad cold (bird flu?) and got out of bed for the food and pictures and then went back to bed for the rest of the week. Don't be concerned, though because I am almost all better. Apparently a 5 day diet of Nyquil, Dayquil, turkey and Diet Dr. Pepper is the cure for bird flu.

I like the little photo that accompanies your comments. I called the kids in and they were all very excited to see their pal Aimee on Alisa's blog.

It looks like you guys had a fun Thanksgiving! Very cool.
In response to Bill's sickness coming back from China, I just got back from China too and I found out that I have pneumonia, and when I then found out that SARS is a type of pneumonia, I had to convince myself that I didn't have SARS. Maybe it's just cold season in China--but me and all my friends came back sick too!
